Template Customization / Your problem is probably with the slice
« on: May 27, 2005, 10:50:49 AM »
Hi carloscano
Usually we don’t use Photoshop for full HTML formatting. So, I suggest you to use PS only for the main HTML structure of the template.

However your problem is probably with the slice of the text box. Setting slice options lets you specify how the slice data will appear in a Web browser.
You can specify slice options in the “Slice Options” dialog box (Photoshop) and the Slice palette (ImageReady).
Double-click the slice with the slice select tool, to display the Slice Options dialog box.
With the slice select tool active, click the Slice Options button in the options bar. * (This method is available only in the main Photoshop application, not in the Photoshop Save for Web dialog box.)
Choosing the No Image type for a slice lets you enter text that will appear in the slice area of the resulting Web page. This text is HTML text, you can format it using standard HTML tags. Here you have to write the code for the text box.
<input type="text" >

* If the text includes HTML formatting tags, select the Text is HTML option. When this option is deselected, all the text you enter (including formatting tags) will be displayed in the resulting Web page.
* Also note that Photoshop and ImageReady do not display HTML text in the document window; you must use a Web browser to preview the text or text box.

I hope this can help you.

Good luck

Template Customization / Table Trouble
« on: May 09, 2005, 06:53:04 AM »
If you need to put a lot of text in the template main table it is very important to add vertical alignment "top" for all tables’ cells or rows. This will keep all the pieces (slices) of pictures together and will align the text.
Example:
<td valign="top"> <img src="images/top1.jpg" width="770" height="99" alt="" /></td>

"valign" specifies the vertical alignment of the contents of a cell, row, or column. You have to align the contents (images) to the top to prevent layout rip.

Good luck

Template Customization / Template resolution
« on: April 26, 2005, 08:49:28 AM »
Hi ebjco,

I just send you an email with the high resolution version of the template, so you don't need to worry about it.

------

Actually to change the resolution of the template:

1. Choose Image > Image Size.
2. Change the template resolution.
 - To change the resolution and adjust the total number of pixels in the template proportionately, make sure that Resample Image is selected. Then choose an interpolation* method.
3.To maintain the current proportions of template width to template  height, select Constrain Proportions. This option automatically updates the width as you change the height.
4. For Resolution, enter a new value. If desired, choose a new unit of measurement.

*Bicubic (Smooth) for the slow but more precise method, resulting in the smoothest tonal gradations.

-------
I re-post here brief information to prevent layout rip when you add more text:
"...When you need to place more text in the template it is very important to add vertical alignment "top" for all tables’ cells that contain pictures (slices). This will keep all the pieces (slices) of pictures together.

Good luck  8)

Template Customization / Update of PhotopPlus is require
« on: February 18, 2005, 08:02:14 AM »
Hi Karl,
May be PhotoPlus 6.0 doesn't support correctly psd file format. I'm not too familiar with this program but saw on their website that the newest version (9.0) has better psd support: "PhotoPlus 9 allows you to import, edit and even export graphics in Photoshop’s PSD format."
The psd file we supply can be normally open by Photoshop 7.0 and above to CS, Fireworks MX and Paint Shop Pro 8 as well.

Template Customization / About images change
« on: January 23, 2005, 05:02:23 PM »
Hi Werner,

The button label can be easily changed by Photoshop (Image Ready). Usually we supply the templates with layered psd file. This file also includes all slices (pieces) of images that formed the template layout.
Once you open the file inside the Photoshop, just change the text for the button and then by using Image Ready (this program is part of Photoshop 5.5 and above) save the image as a Web page.
You also can open the PSD file by Paint Shop Pro 8, but the slices are not visible.

Modifying of the jpg images is not very good idea, because is very slow and result is not fine.

Once again I send you the button's images with "services" label, so just replace them.

Template Customization / Vertical alignment "top"
« on: January 23, 2005, 09:53:02 AM »
I see the problem you describe me.
When you need to place more text in the template it is very important to add vertical alignment "top" for all tables’ cells that contain pictures (slices). This will keep all the pieces (slices) of pictures together.
Example:
    <td colspan="4" valign="top"> <img src="images/top1.jpg" width="770" height="99" alt="" /></td>

valign specifies the vertical alignment of the contents of a cell, row, or column. You have to align the contents (images) to the top to prevent layout rip.
I send you an email with the updated version of the template, so you don't need to worry about it.

Template Customization / About frames.
« on: November 22, 2004, 12:55:46 PM »
Hi,

After you create a frames page by using one of the frames page templates in FrontPage.
On frames pages, the target frames  (target frame is the name of a frame in which the target page of a hyperlink is displayed. Typically, a hyperlink from one frame of a frames page (or frameset) will supply as its target frame another frame of the frames page.)are already set up for you.
You can change the default target frame: Select the text or picture(buttons) that you are using as a hyperlink, and then click Insert Hyperlink .
In the Edit Hyperlink dialog box, click Target Frame. In the Target Frame dialog box, the Current frames page area shows a map of your frames page. Click in the frame you would like to set as the target frame.

That's it.

You also can use inline frame (Insert > InlineFrame). Inline frames are similar to frames pages except that this frame and its contents are embedded on an existing web page. Inline frames can also be customized in the same ways as regular frames. One of the advantages of using inline frames is that you don't need to create a separate frames page in order to have embedded content.

Good luck!

Template Download / Upload all the extracted files to your hosting space
« on: November 03, 2004, 02:24:51 PM »
You just need to upload all the extracted files to your hosting space. Transfer files from your computer to your main directory with some FTP tool (such as Cute FTP). You can download "CuteFTP 6.0 Home" from here: http://installer.globalscape.com/pub/cuteftp/cuteftp.exe

Also you can use any main HTML editor (such as Dreamweaver MX, Front Page or even Notepad) to edit the html file.

Good luck!
